Privacy Policy

Summary

• Microphone audio is analyzed in real time on your device to detect pitch and is not recorded or uploaded.
• Your tuning settings are stored only on your device.
• The app has no account system. We do not ask for your name, email address, or contacts.
• The app shows ads and uses analytics, crash reporting, and purchase services from Google and RevenueCat. These services collect device identifiers, approximate location, app usage, diagnostics, and purchase information, as described below.

Information We Process

Tuner is designed to analyze the pitch of your instrument from the microphone signal. All processing happens locally on your device.

• Microphone audio. The live microphone signal is analyzed in real time to detect pitch and show the tuning readout, spectrum, and pitch history. Audio is processed in memory and is not recorded, saved, or transmitted by the app.
• App preferences. Your choices — such as concert pitch, selected instrument and strings, temperament, stretch tuning, notation, tolerance, analysis settings, language, and theme — are saved locally on your device so the app remembers them.

Third-Party Services

Tuner includes the following services. Each one receives data directly from the app and handles it under its own privacy policy.

• Advertising (Google AdMob). Collects device identifiers such as the Android advertising ID, your IP address (used to estimate approximate location), how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information. It is used to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown. How Google uses this data.
• Analytics and crash reporting (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics). Collects app instance identifiers, app interactions such as screens opened, device model and Android version, crash logs, and diagnostics. It is used to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. Firebase privacy information.
• Purchases (Google Play Billing and RevenueCat). If you buy the optional upgrade, your purchase history and an anonymous app user ID are processed to verify and restore the purchase. We never receive your payment card details. RevenueCat privacy policy.

Permissions

Tuner requests only the permission it needs to work, and only when the related feature is used.

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO). Required to capture the microphone signal that is analyzed to show the pitch of your instrument. The app requests this permission at runtime and uses the audio only for live pitch detection.

Tuner uses internet access and the advertising ID permission for the services listed above. It does not use precise location, contacts, or other sensitive permissions.

Files You Choose To Save

If you use an optional export feature to save a recorded sample as an audio file, the file is written only to the location you pick on your own device or storage using the Android system file picker. These files stay under your control and are never sent to us.

How Information Is Used

• Detect pitch and display the tuner readout in real time.
• Show the spectrum, autocorrelation, and pitch history views.
• Remember your tuning setup and app preferences on the device.
• Show and measure ads, and prevent ad fraud.
• Understand how the app is used and fix crashes.
• Verify and restore purchases.

Data Sharing And Selling

Tuner does not sell personal information. The data described under Third-Party Services is shared with those providers so they can deliver ads, analytics, crash reporting, and purchases. Microphone audio and your tuning settings are never shared.

Data Retention And Deletion

App preferences remain on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall Tuner. Uninstalling the app removes its settings from your device. Any audio files you exported yourself remain wherever you saved them until you delete them.

Data collected by the third-party services is kept according to their own retention policies. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalization, in your device's Android settings under Privacy and Ads.

Children

Tuner is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy if the app changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
